Patience
Nothing makes ten-year-old Isaac more lacking in attention than grammar homework mixed with the excitement of the Christmas season. I have to sit with him and get his attention span to focus every thirty seconds (or thereabout). After awhile I laughed and told him he was trying my patience. He put his hand gently on my shoulder. "Mom, that's why God gave you kids. To teach you patience."
Indeed.
~
Me: "Noah, what do you want for Christmas?"
Noah: "A baby Macen! A REAL one!"
We are a little in love with our newest cousin.

Little Notes
"May I have some pumpkin bars?"
I like her proper use of "may."
In first grade you learn:
"May" is used to ask permission.
"Can" is used to show ability.
